MEPs demand attention for the Catalan independence process at the COSAC conference in Malta

At the European COSAC conference in Malta, the outrage on rejecting dialogue with the Catalan government is becoming increasingly louder. The senator Laura Castel (ERC Catalonia) and the MP Peter Luykx (N-VA Flanders) called for European Vice-President Frans Timmermans to recognize the democratic dialogue on the pursuit of autonomy.

The Brexit and the debate about the future of Europe make a new dynamic possible today. The Catalans will hold a binding referendum on an independent Catalonia this autumn, in Ireland, the reunification of Northern Ireland and Ireland after Brexit is no longer unlikely, the Scotts announced a new referendum on independence.

Peter Luykx: ‘If Europe wants to increase its level of support, then she must take this pro-European dynamism seriously. The Catalan pursuit of autonomy is democratic and broadly worn.
