> The film > A saga which even has its own theme park > Goodbye forever? dimarts, 16 de novembre de 2010
Fans of the world's most famous wizard are in luck. 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows', the film based on the final book in the saga written by English author J.K. Rowling, is in cinemas from Friday 19 November.
The film focuses on the first part of the book. The second part, which has already been filmed, will be released in July of next year and will be available in 3D. 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' had its grand world premiere in England's capital city of London last week. Of course, the film's three biggest stars were there: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who play Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. All three feel indebted to the saga, which has been with them for half of their lives, as it has opened up a world of professional opportunities for them ever since the first instalment, 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', catapulted them to worldwide fame back in 2001, when they were just children. The filmThe drama unfolds outside the walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Alone and with no-one to help, Harry, Ron and Hermione embark upon a highly dangerous mission: to find and destroy the seven Horcruxes, each of which holds a part of the soul of Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), the embodiment of all evil. The film is a prelude to the ultimate battle between good and evil (a battle, of course, to be fought in the saga's final instalment, which will be released next summer).
A saga which even has its own theme parkIn the thirteen years since 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' first appeared on our bookshelves, Harry Potter has become an unprecedented literary and cinematic phenomenon. The series has sold over 400 million copies worldwide and has been translated into some 70 languages (including Catalan), and the films are among the highest-grossing in cinematic history. As if this were not enough, six months ago a theme park dedicated to the magical world of Harry Potter opened in Orlando, Florida, in the United States of America.
Goodbye forever?
+ The last book was published in 2007.
Dedicated fans may be asking themselves if this really is the end for Harry Potter. Of course, the last word can only come from the author herself, J.K. Rowling. In a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey (perhaps America's best-known chat show host), Rowling said she could easily write an eight instalment, and a ninth, and a tenth… but that she does not think she will. However, she did not entirely rule it out…
